Colby offers a bibliography of “Publications on Communist Semantics.” Colby and Alger are both fascinating anthropologists of societies of straw men. They imagine an exotic and uncanny society dangerously illegible and seductive. Both seem compelled by erotic desire to know this exotic Other.
